GameStop Corp., the world’s largest video game and entertainment software retailer, today announced that it will host midnight events to celebrate the launch of Kinect, Microsoft’s new full-body motion sensor designed exclusively for Xbox 360. More than 2,000 U.S. GameStop stores will re-open at 10 p.m. local time on Nov. 3 to host launch-night activities and a countdown to midnight when pre-order customers will be the first to get “Kinected.” Customers should check in advance with their local store for exact times and details.
“Kinect is taking game play to the next level, allowing players to experience video gaming in a whole new way,” said Bob McKenzie, GameStop’s senior vice president of merchandising. “We are very excited to see our customers embracing this technology, and we expect this excitement to continue through the holiday season.”
Additionally, on Saturday, Nov. 6, GameStop will host Kinect demo day events at 330 of its locations. Customers will be able to jump into the hands-free gaming action from 1-4 p.m. local time where they can demo Kinect Adventures, Kinect Joy Ride and Dance Central.
